Executive Board 2018 - 2019

Co-President
Wendy Zheng

I am a third year, potentially majoring in Economics and Environmental Studies. I was born in and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. In my free time, I love to cook, walk around different neighborhoods looking for a new restaurant to try, and watching food related youtube videos. Basically, the realest and most legit thing I can say about myself is that I love food. And Rihanna. Love her.

Co-President
Calvin Zhu

I am a third year, majoring in Economics. I was born here in Chicago but moved to a suburb when I was one year old. Besides CUSA, I am also involved in International Leadership Council, Fire Escape Films, and PhiNix Dance Crew. Whenever I have time, I enjoy playing badminton and queuing up for a game of League of Legends. My spirit animal is a corgi puppy. I am also a big fan of eating tasty foods and love finding new ramen shops in Chicago and Chinatown.

Vice President of Finance
Guanyu Zhou

I am a third year, majoring in Mathematics. I was born in and grew up in Dalian, China. I love Russian literature and my favourite book is Dostoevsky's The Brothers Karamazov. Fun fact: I am a lefty but write with my right hand. I guess that's something you pick up when you have to write Chinese characters properly.

Vice President of Operations
Yingning (Tori) Hu

I am a third year, majoring in Political Science. I was born in and grew up in Shanghai, China. In my free time, I enjoy going to cafes, eating tasty food, and watching Korean variety shows. My favorite musician is currently Kendrick Lamar. One of my favorite restaurants is probably Tank Noodles.

Co-Vice President of Publicity
Sarah Pan

I am a third year, majoring in Neuroscience. I was born in and grew up here in Chicago, IL. Besides CUSA, I am also part of the Maroon and work in a developmental biology lab on campus. I like good food, good friends and good grades, pretty much in that order.

Co-Vice President of Publicity
Shutian (Teddy) Jiang

I am a third year, majoring in Chemistry and Molecular Engineering. I was born and raised in Nanjing, China and went to Nanjing Foreign Language School. I love reading detective novels in my free time and my favorite writers include Ellery Queen and Soji Shimada(岛田庄司). My favorite singers include Terry Lin and Jay Chou, and my favorite movie is The Grand Budapest Hotel directed by Wes Anderson. Always come to me if you need someone to control the mic at the karaoke!

Finance Chair
Yue (Cherry) Ying

I am a second year, majoring in Statistics and Economics. I was born and raised in Ningbo, China. My birth name is 应悦 "Ying Yue" which is very similar to the pronunciation of music "Yin Yue" in Chinese. Every time when I watch The Voice of China, I thought people are just confessing to me by telling me how much they love me ("Yin Yue"). Because my name is also the name of a subject/class, people sometimes ask me whether I have a brother named 应宇 "Ying Yu"(英语)or not.

Social Chair
Tuoyuan Li

I am a second year, currently unsure about my major. I was born in Shandong and raised in Hong Kong, China(?). I like memes, reading (and writing) UChicago Secrets posts and imitating voices and accents. I don't like midterms, the quarter system and the burning hot cutlery in the dining halls.

Design Chair
Yiting (Alice) Yin

I am a second year, and have not decided my major yet. I was born in Guangzhou and grew up mostly there, after spending a year in Liaoning. My ideal occupation is to be a food blogger. My hobbies include collecting leaf-shaped earrings, photography, doodling in notebooks, and my favorite movie is Cloud Atlas.

Events Chair
Emily Chen

I am a second year chemistry major. I was born in New York but grew up in Hong Kong and Beijing. Besides CUSA, I can be spotted making latte art at ExLibris, messing around in a Chem lab, reading on the quad, and trying to figure out life. I also love a good bowl of ramen, disney movies, and the tv show Friends.

Co-Cultural Show Chair
Changrui (Ray) Chen

I am a second year economics and history double major. I was born in Xi'an and grew up in Xi'an and Beijing, although I went to high school in Ohio, US. Besides CUSA, I was also a member of Maroon Capital and Prism Consulting Training Program. During my free time, I enjoy watching all kinds of movies, reading history and Japanese literature. Ramen Takeya and Au Cheval are my favorite restaurants in Chicago, and I also like the restaurants in Chinatown.

Co-Cultural Show Chair
Fangjian (Roy) Wu

I am a second year physics and economics double major. I was born in Henan, China and moved to Beijing for six years. I really like physics and watching movies. In my spare time, I enjoy playing and listening to music. I used to play a lot of video games but now only play League.

Freshman Representative
Sirui (Miya) Lyu

I am a first year, potential majoring in Economics and I am considering Computer Science as a minor. I was born and grew up in Shijiazhuang, China but I lived in Shanghai for three years. If you try to remember my Chinese name, just remember the sound of “three”! I love cooking Chinese food and I definitely prefer salty than sweet (don’t argue with me about this)! Two fun facts: I have been doing Bian Lian (变脸) for about 9 years and I go on diet periodically.

Freshman Representative
Yichen Zhu

I am a first year, intending to double major in mathematics and philosophy! I was born in Fujian, China but I grew up in the Bay Area. I enjoy listening to music, solving logic problems, figure drawing, and napping in my free time. Fun fact: I’ve read all 154 Shakespearean sonnets!

Freshman Representative
Yanlin (Leon) Du

I am a first-year planning to double major in Economics and Political Science with a minor in East Asian Languages and Civilizations. Though I was born in Yantai, China, I grew up in Qingdao before going to high school in Connecticut. I love to watch TV shows and read novels (I am a big fan of Haruki Murakami) during my spare time.
